Centro San Antonio helps accommodate downtown's growing residential population, enhance its office and retail market, and position downtown as a premier convention and visitor destination through the efforts of the Public Improvement District.

In 2000, Centro San Antonio Management Corporation launched Centro San Antonio-The Downtown Public Improvement District to provide services and improvements as a supplement to services provided by the City of San Antonio. These services are in the form of Ambassador Amigos, Maintenance Amigos, and Streetscaping Amigos.

Last November my wife Connie and I were privileged to enjoy our first visit to beautiful San Antonio. What a great time we had. We loved San Antonio and its wonderful people. The Amigos were so gracious and helpful in providing guidance and information.

Our Mission

To enhance the value and usage of downtown properties and businesses through the delivery of unique and supplemental services to make downtown an even more desirable place to live, work, shop, play, and be entertained.

I wanted to thank the Alamo City Amigo program for making my stay in San Antonio very special. Every time I paused to check a map or a trolley stop, it seems that there was an Alamo City Amigo standing there ready to give advice on where to go or what trolley to take to get to my destination. This program makes San Antonio an especially tourist-friendly city, and one that I will look forward to returning to.
